Shortening Your Camp Stay

Upon check-in at the park, if you choose to curtail your camping duration, a refund will be provided based on the percentage of unused camp night fees, calculated using the sliding modification/cancellation formula below.

If you check out before 1 p.m., the cost of that night’s camp fee will be incorporated into the refund formula. If you check out after 1 p.m., that night’s camp fees will not be included in the refund formula.

Policy for Modification and Cancellation

You may cancel or modify your camping reservation by calling 800-447-2757 or online at MiDNRReservations.com. Please note that a nonrefundable reservation fee, a cancellation fee, and a reduced-stay fee will be charged.

Campsite reservations may not be canceled or modified beyond five months from the arrival date.

The following fees will be assessed in case of cancellation or reservation modification:

  • A nonrefundable reservation fee of for online bookings and $10 for call center bookings, a cancellation or modification fee of $10, and a reduced-stay fee (a progressive fee based on the duration of the reservation and the number of nights withdrawn) as per the formula below.

If canceled or modified before arrival, any unused camp nights are eligible for a refund, based on the sliding modification/cancellation formula. However, if canceled on or after the arrival date, the first night’s fee, and the cost of any preceding nights will be charged at full cost, while any remaining unused nights will be eligible for a refund using the sliding modification/cancellation formula.

Reservations canceled on the same day of creation will only be charged the $10 cancellation/modification fee.

For modifications that do not alter the length of stay, only the $10 cancellation/modification fee shall apply.

Modifications that increase the duration of stay will incur additional fees for the extra nights and will not charge the $10 cancellation/modification fee.

Reservations are held until two days after the arrival date at 3 p.m. Failure to check-in within 48 hours of the designated time will result in a “no-show” status and lead to the loss of two nights' fees in addition to the reduced-stay fee assessed on the remaining unused nights, using the sliding modification/cancellation formula.
