Escape the sweltering heat of summer in the Wiregrass Region of Alabama by taking a refreshing dip in the pristine waters of Blue Springs State Park in Clio. Although this hidden gem may be unknown to most visitors, it is worth traveling from anywhere in the state to explore. While Blue Springs is an ideal hotspot during the summer, it remains a welcoming destination during every season of the year. If you're searching for a serene spot to decompress and enjoy the tranquility of nature, then look no further!
Nature at its Finest
The park's primary allure is its dual octagonal swimming pools filled with crystal-clear water from an underground spring that remains a chilly 68 degrees even through scorching summers. The spring pumps massive 3,600 gallons of water per minute, which eventually flows into the west fork of Choctawhatchee River. The shallow areas near the rocks offer a perfect spot for children to hunt for various critters before the water flows into the river.
