Visitors to Mississippi's parks have left glowing reviews of their experiences. Elizabeth_B_ had a wonderful time at Tombigbee State Park, spending several days in Cabin 4 with beautiful lake views, kayaking, and grilling outside. Although the bathroom was small, the cabin was well-appointed with two large queen beds and a great kitchen. A nearby boat ramp made it easy to get out onto the water, and the park's proximity to Tupelo provided plenty of restaurant options and supplies.

Stephenie_w had an important correction to make for Gulf Islands National Seashore - it is a national park, not a state park. And Stephanie_T had a less satisfying experience at Buccaneer State Park, finding the absence of the promised water park and pool - which were attractions that drew her family to the park - frustrating and poorly communicated. While she understood the challenges of staffing and lifeguarding, she felt that more notice should be given to campers so they can adjust their plans and expectations accordingly. RFoster highly recommends a visit to DeSoto National Forest, which she found to be peaceful, beautiful, and perfect for hiking, camping, and getting away from it all.
