Chris Perrin, who visited the White Rocks National Recreation Area, recounted an interesting experience of mushroom hunting and discovering that a porcupine had been the culprit of breaking off shaggy mane mushrooms.

Jalz111er's experience at Aitken State Forest included an easy stepping loop hike with amazing panoramic views.

Gil Woodside Jr. has been camping at Calvin Coolidge State Forest since 1950, praising the stunning views, well-maintained camping areas, and the staff's awesome hospitality.

Alex McCune shared fond memories of camping at Calvin Coolidge State Forest, and expressed a longing to return and relive those experiences.

Paul R's trip to Ainsworth State Park had a disappointing outcome because the park had been given to a retiring Vermont congressman who currently operates a dairy farm on the property.

Brighton State Park also received mixed feedback from visitors.

If you're a fan of Loons and looking for the perfect place to stay, then Blue Jay cabin is a great choice. My wife, kids and I stayed here in the summer of 2011 and we were really impressed by the friendly and helpful staff. The cabin is situated in a peaceful location where you can enjoy the sight and sound of Loons throughout the day. There's also a large variety of fish to catch in Spectacle Pond. However, we did notice that the beach wasn't well-maintained and there were quite a few cigarette butts and dead leaves lying around. On the positive side, the water was warm enough for swimming and the campsite was very quiet and well-maintained. The campsites were also placed at a reasonable distance from each other, which gave us a sense of privacy. The Blue Jay cabin and campsite #38 are located right on the pond, which made it easy to launch our kayaks. If you plan to take a drive, we highly recommend Rt-105 West/East for the spectacular lakes and mountains views. You can also find the Kingdom Supermarket about 5 minutes away from the camp on Rt-105 West.

On the other hand, if you're a hiking enthusiast, then the White Rocks National Recreation Area is perfect for you. The park offers a good variety of inclines, including the Little Ball Mountain trip and the switchback trail leading up to Ball Lake Dam. You definitely don't want to miss the Hamilton Falls, which are absolutely breathtaking.

If you're looking for a place with sentimental value and a lifetime of memories, then the Green Mountain National Forest is an excellent choice. I grew up picnicking at this park and now I bring my own family here when we visit Vermont. This is where my husband and I fell in love and where we plan to spend eternity. We have noticed some changes over the years, but we always bring a bag with us to carry out any litter. The black flies during Memorial weekend can be quite pesky, but it's all worth it to come back to this beautiful park.

It's important to note that the Green Mountain National Forest is not a National Park. It falls under the jurisdiction of the US Department of Agriculture, unlike National Parks which are administered under the Department of the Interior. If you're looking for a National Park in Vermont, then you should check out the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Historical Park near Woodstock.

Lastly, Wilgus State Park is a great place for sailing enthusiasts who want to relax and unwind. My friends and I stayed here in July 2010 and we were really impressed by the peaceful and respectful atmosphere. The park is really well-maintained, with grills that are taken care of by the friendly staff. It's always great to see young people who show respect for nature. We had a wonderful time here and hope to visit again soon.
