People who were born and raised in the United States may take their country for granted, but anyone who hasn't yet been here should know that they are missing out. Foreign visitors can't possibly see everything in the United States in a single trip, but no matter where they land, there's something exciting to see. Skiing at Lake Tahoe is an option for California visitors. During your travels, you never know who you might run into. Of course, if you want to visit the ultimate megalopolis, there's always New York, the state and the city. In fact, that's the whole point of this list. 10 - Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania's shopping is a major draw, though many of those customers are actually from across the border in Canada.

We've now reached the Midwest, thanks to the state of Illinois, and its largest city, Chicago, is truly stunning. It's no secret that San Francisco's tourist attractions can be as pricey as those in New York or any other major city in the United States, but if you're a wealthy international visitor, it's worth it. You can have a fantastic time at any time. Chicago is home to the world-famous Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs, and a stroll through downtown will impress visitors with its stunning skyline.

If you get hungry after touring Michael Jordan's childhood home, you can choose from a wide variety of excellent eateries serving the city's signature deep dish pizza. Absolutely nothing else compares to it; you won't forget it. If you're looking for something to do in Chicago that isn't related to sports, I highly recommend taking in some of the fine art at the Art Institute of Chicago. The Polish Museum of America and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum are both worth a visit outside of Chicago. You can now understand why so many international visitors praise Illinois.

7. Guam

We have now reached one of the two states on this list that are technically not a part of the United States. As a part of the United States, Guam is an excellent addition. The name of those creatures alone is frightening, but the rest of the state is filled with some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of the United States, with the caveat that it is geographically isolated. Even though Guam isn't the best place to visit in the United States, the fact that it's in the top 10 of the 50 states in 2013 says a lot about how great it is.

6. Texas

You don't want to piss off Texans. 5. Nevada

The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona and is only a few hours away from Nevada, where the Mojave Desert is located. It would be worth it to visit Nevada just to see those two places. When you consider that you can experience Sin City firsthand, it's not hard to see why tourists from all over the world flock to Nevada. Tourists visiting Las Vegas have the opportunity to experience things that are unique to the city and cannot be had anywhere else. The reason "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is because of this.

There are some of the best unique acts in the world, and you can see them in casinos, right alongside the flashing lights and ringing slot machines. acrobatics, or you could get lost in the thriving electronic dance music culture that is currently dominating the Las Vegas nightlife scene. Any luxury you can imagine is available in the city, and some of the most amazing sights you'll ever see are not very far away from the center of the action. Spectacular scenery in the desert combined with the state's well-known attractions makes Nevada a popular tourist destination worldwide.

4. Hawaii

If you're looking for a tropical vacation spot in the United States, you've found the one. The beauty of Hawaii is unmatched. Incredible volcanoes, a gorgeous ocean, and a culture that is distinct from the fast-paced, consumerist lifestyle that characterizes the majority of the United States. In 2013, visitors from other countries clearly had no problem forking over the cash required to experience everything on offer.

Hawaii has some of the world's best surfing, and there's just something about the strum of a ukulele that makes even the thought of flying to the islands feel like a weight has been lifted. Everybody has a fantasy of visiting a tropical island, where they can relax with a margarita in one hand and a lei around their neck as they are greeted by a stunning group of natives. Because of this, Hawaii will always be one of the most beautiful, fascinating, and impressive tourist destinations in the United States.

2. Florida

Only one other state attracts more international visitors than Florida, but when you factor in all the unique and interesting things there are to do there, the Sunshine State stands in a class of its own. There are plenty of places in Miami to go wild at night in an outdoor club. Where else but Miami Beach can you find white sand and clear blue water? If you're only interested in seeing native species, like manatees and alligators, Florida is still a great place to go.

All this talk about what a great time can be had in Florida, and we haven't even gotten to the one attraction guaranteed to have even the most jaded reader captivated: Disney World. To those who can afford it, a trip to Disney World is a must, especially those who have young children. Walt Disney's dream was to create a place where people of all backgrounds could go to be swept away by the magic of Disney's films and stories. It's a truly remarkable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that has drawn tourists from far and wide to the state for decades. If you add in the year-round warmth of the Florida sun, you can see why tourism in the state shows no signs of slowing down.
