State parks are accessible to visitors 365 days a year, from 8 a.m. until sunset. You can reserve a campsite or cabin up to 11 months in advance, starting from the day before your intended stay until 1 p.m. the following day. Bookings can be made via the reservations website or by calling 800-326-3521 or TDD 888-433-0287 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time.
For example, if you want to reserve a campsite for July 4, you can do so up until 1 p.m. on July 4 itself. However, you cannot book a spot for November 1, 2022 until December 1, 2021.
Any unreserved or unoccupied cabins or campsites are available to walk-in visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be paid for in advance, and prices are subject to change without warning.

Campsite prices vary by park and range from $16 to $42 per night, while cabin prices range from $30 to $160 per night. Florida residents aged 65 years or older, those with current Social Security disability award certificates, and families who operate licensed foster homes receive a 50% discount on base campsite fees.
You will need to provide documentation to receive the discount, which only applies to occupied family or full-facility campsites. Primitive sites, primitive group sites, developed group camps, and boat slips are not included.
Primitive group camp fees are charged per person ($1 for juveniles and $5 for adults). Your camping fee covers admission and the use of park facilities such as boat ramps and playgrounds, but you will need to pay separately for tour, attraction, and museum fees.
When you make a reservation either online or via the call center, you will be asked to pay a nonrefundable .70 reservation fee per booking, not per night. Note that this fee does not apply to primitive site reservations.
From July 27 onwards, all new reservations for RV, boat, bungalow, cabin, and yurt units at every park are subject to a nightly utility fee of . Tent camping is exempt from this fee, and senior and disabled camping discounts do not apply.
Campground Stay Length
To ensure visitors have a high-quality experience, we limit the length of stays at campgrounds. Maximum lengths of stay and site capacities are set to strike a balance between enabling adequate camping opportunities and safeguarding the visitor camping experience.
During busy periods, such as holidays, the maximum length of a camping or cabin stay is 14 nights. After that, you must leave the park for at least three nights before checking back in for a new reservation.
If space is available, the park manager or a representative may opt to extend your stay by up to 14 more nights. Note that the maximum continuous length of stay in any one park is 28 nights.
Each camper can stay a maximum of 56 nights in any given park during each six-month period of October 1 to March 31 or April 1 to September 30. We prohibit all attempts to circumvent the 14-night and 56-night limits, including changes to the registered name of a group or individual, multiple advanced bookings, and the use of multiple user profiles.
For cabins, a minimum of two nights is required for reservation. Walk-in visitors can rent any unreserved and unoccupied campsite or cabin they find. During peak periods, such as high demand seasons, camping or cabin stays are restricted to a maximum of 14 nights. After 14 nights, the camper must exit the park for at least three consecutive nights before resuming their stay. After registering and being on site, a campground manager or designee may, at their discretion, extend a camper's stay for up to 14 additional nights, subject to availability. The maximum continuous stay at any park is 28 nights. In any six-month period from October 1 to March 31, and April 1 to September 30, campers can occupy any one park for a maximum of 56 nights. A one-night "spacer" will be placed between all cabin reservations in order to provide additional cleaning and turnover time. During this time, the cabin will not be occupied so staff can clean it thoroughly. Pets are not allowed in cabins or cabin areas, but service animals are welcome in all areas of the park. It is strictly prohibited to circumvent the 14-night maximum or 56-night total length-of-stay limits, including but not limited to, changing the registered name of an individual or group, making multiple advanced reservations, or using multiple user profiles.
In case a reservation or series of reservations violate the limits, campers will be informed to cancel reservations that will bring them within the allowed limit. Refunds for advance reservations will be made as required. Cancellation fees will be charged for any advance reservation cancelled due to this reason.
Cabin renters may be charged a damage fee for any damage that goes beyond a standard wear and tear or cleaning. Charges may also apply for lost or stolen items. The damage fee will be equivalent to either the amount of time needed to clean or repair the item or the cost of replacing the damaged furniture, plus the hourly rate of staff and the vendor charge for the actual cleaning or repair. In case of the loss or theft of an item, the cost of the item will be charged.
Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance of arrival, but not beyond that. Reservations can be made beyond this 11-month period only if they start within this period and end after it. Therefore, reservations can extend up to 11 months and 14 days in the future. Any changes made to a reservation beyond this 11-month window can be made 18 days after the reservation was made, to ensure fairness in reserving campsites and cabins. New sites become available for reservation every day at 8 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Any new sites that become available throughout the day due to cancellations will be randomly released back into inventory. Unreserved and unoccupied campsites or cabins are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made on a pay-in-advance basis.
No more than eight individuals are allowed to occupy one campsite, and at least one responsible camper who is 18 years old or older must be present. If more than eight campers are present, they will be required to rent additional campsites. Children under six years old are not counted towards the total.
The available cabins can host either four or six visitors, and it is important that both campsites and cabins are occupied for the entire duration of the stay. A camping rig refers to various combinations of vehicles, trailers, tents, and hammocks, and only visitors with a camping rig will be allowed to stay. While most campsites can fit different camping rigs, some sites may not accommodate large trailers or RVs with big slide-outs and a dining fly. It is important to specify the specifications when making a reservation, and setting up buffer zones or interfering with neighboring campers is strictly prohibited.
When camping with hammocks, only trees with a minimum diameter of 12 inches measured at chest height and fitted with at least 1-inch-wide flat web straps can be used. Some parks can provide hammock posts in place of trees.
Only visitors aged 18 or above can camp unless accompanied by a responsible adult who stays on-site for the entire stay. It is important not to overcrowd the campsite or cabin, with campsites accommodating up to eight people or just one immediate family (parents and 17-year-old children). The check-in time for campsites is 3 p.m., while check-out is set at 1 p.m. For cabins, check-in is set at 4 p.m. while check-out is at 11 a.m. Quiet time is observed from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Visitors should call the park before 5 p.m. local time for the gate combination if arriving after sunset. Parking is at the sole discretion of the park staff and limited to a maximum of two vehicles per campsite or cabin, with extra cars directed to designated areas.
Pets are allowed in certain designated camping areas and campsites but prohibited on beaches, playgrounds, or in bathing areas, cabins, park buildings, and concession facilities. The park may have specific areas prohibiting pets, and service animals are allowed in all public spaces within the state parks. For complete information, visitors should read the Pet Policy.
The park staff keeps the reserved campsites or cabins until the applicable check-out time, one day after the scheduled arrival date. If the camper fails to arrive and does not call the park directly to cancel, the remainder of the reservation will be invalidated, with any remaining balance refunded.
Visitors can alter their reservations up to one day before arrival for campsite or cabins reservations through the reservations call center or online, with a $10 fee charged for the change. Once visitors register at the park, staff can make any date and site changes without charging cancellation or change fees. The change fees are waived for primitive group camps reservations.
Visitors can cancel family campsite and cabin reservations through the reservations call center or online, with a $17.75 cancellation fee assessed for each cancelled reservation. Visitors who cancel on the day of arrival will be charged the first night's use fee and a cancellation fee of $17.75. For visitors who cancel within 24 hours of booking the reservation, all the cancellation fees plus the .70 reservation fee are waived, but they must call the reservations call center to request fee waivers.
Once arriving at the park, visitors who need to make arrangements for a late arrival or request a refund should call the park directly instead of the general booking line at 800-326-3521 or TDD 888-433-0287. Canceling a reservation after the day of arrival will result in a prorated refund with a $17.75 cancellation fee deducted. Keep in mind that if you reserve multiple sites for consecutive days to make up a longer stay, you will be charged a cancellation fee for each reservation.
Fees may be applied up to the total amount paid for the reservation.
To ensure fairness in the reservation process, reservations made with a departure date more than 11 months in advance cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after making the reservation. Primitive group campsite reservations are exempt from cancellation fees.
Prohibited Reselling of Campsite ReservationsCampsite reservations may not be sold or resold. When a reservation is made, the purchaser enters into a transaction contract with Florida State Parks, and the reservation is not transferable to others.
Any reservation found to have been offered for sale or resold will be canceled, and the original purchaser will be charged a $17.75 cancellation fee. The only exception to this policy is for Florida State Park concessionaires with an authorized visitor service.
Gift CardsGift cards are no longer available for purchase as of February 1, 2018. However, Florida State Parks will continue to accept and honor gift cards purchased before February 1, 2018.
Gift cards can be used to reserve camping and cabins at participating Florida State Parks, either online, through the call center, or as walk-ins. They are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, past purchases, merchandise, fees, or rentals.
